Dr. Audrey Naffe joins Pine View School as the new orchestra director. A dedicated violist and experienced performer, she brings a wealth of training, performance experience, and pedagogical insight to Pine View’s orchestra program.
Education and Training
Dr. Naffe earned a Doctor of Music in Viola from Indiana University in Bloomington. Her earlier studies included a Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Performance Career
As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed in many prominent venues. She was principal violist and guest artist with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra in performances such as Mozart Madness, taking the viola soloist role in Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante.
Dr. Naffe has been involved in a variety of collaborative and multimedia projects, including virtual concert recordings and educational outreach performances, which highlight her versatility as both a performer and educator.
Teaching Philosophy & Experience
Dr. Naffe’s teaching philosophy centers on fostering both technical development and musical curiosity. She emphasizes ensemble playing, listening skills, and interpretive thinking, guiding students to become confident and expressive musicians. At Pine View, she plans to develop a program that supports students from intermediate string study through advanced orchestral performance, fostering leadership, creativity, and teamwork in both rehearsal and performance settings.
Before coming to Pine View, she taught private viola and string students, coached chamber ensembles, and led orchestra workshops at multiple educational institutions and summer music programs. She is committed to helping students find their individual voices within the ensemble and to nurturing their growth as both soloists and ensemble players.

At Pine View, Audrey aims to develop a dynamic orchestra curriculum that includes:
